The Shed Research Institute is a multidisciplinary art, research, and design studio headed by Jeff Cain.

The SRI initiates individual projects, commissions and supports the work of others, and accepts commissions and design projects.

Named and inspired by temporary structures that house adhoc initiatives and amateur exploration, the Shed Research Institute has many small outposts in Los Angeles, that have no legal or permanent address. All shed facilities are considered temporary and will be stationed as long as it is needed and then moved or taken apart to facilitate future use.
